After passing Level 2, I managed
to continue studying Japanese in Level 3. This is the story of Level 3 PSJ UGM :)
The first time I came, there were
only 3 pupils on the class, Mas Jojo, Edo, and I. Sensei wa Yunan-sensei
deshita. Mas Jojo and Edo are brothers and they’re also very advanced in
Nihongo. They have already known so many Kanji, sugoi desu nee.
Being the only girl in the class
made me feel like... somehow lil bit insecure. Especially when they started
talking about “ecchi” PC games (Boys, please note this, girls don’t talk about
it nor want to hear about it). Thank goodness, in the third (or fourth?) meeting, our
class grew bigger! :D
We had new classmates, Mas Fajar,
Mas Dito, Ninis, and Domi. Kyoushitsu wa nigiyaka ni narimashita, ureshii da.
Level 3 class was more lively compare to my previous Level 2 class. Maybe that’s
because we liked to tease each other with “naughty” words such as “Minikui!” (-ugly)
and “Dokushin!” (-single, as in relationship). Ninis and Domi were the center
of the class. They made us laugh many times, but in the other hand when we had
listening session, we couldn’t catch the conversation because they were pretty
noisy. Hehehe. Peace.
I see that everyone here had
passion for learning Nihongo. Everyone’s Nihongo was advanced. By the way,
everyone is otaku! (except me, obviously). They really do love manga and anime.
Our teacher was a little bit...
um, how to say it... weird. Not firm, sometimes he’s even confused with his own
material. But let’s aprreciate him tho, he’d tried his best. Besides, he loved
to send us reminder message.
Nice (yet weird) teacher |
Level 3 starts in evening, at 7
pm. Somehow I missed the afternoon scene. Bulaksumur in afternoon is pretty
beautiful. The holland architectural building with so many flowery trees along
the way. The orange sunlight, ah how I miss afternoon class. Yet when the dark
falls, all scenery is just plain black. As PSJ building is being renovated, we
studied in Law Faculty and Cultural Studies Faculty. Can’t wait to see the new
building!
The cultural class this session
was a seminar about Japanese Culture -I see that they’re saving up money for
the renovation (read: cooking class is expensive). As we all know, Japanese are
hard workers, inspire me to do my best as well.
The native nihonjin class was held
too! That day, we also shared class with students from Level 1. Well, this academic
gap made students from Level 3 kinda dominating the conversation. Our native
Japanese guest was Kunio Harada san. Hansamu na hito~ He’s studying while
working here too. The funny thing was, the students asked him questions in
Japanase languange, then he answered it mostly in Indonesian language #lahpiye.
LOL. Oh ya, he bowed a lot! Jogjanese usually shows respect with nodding their
head, while Japanese shows it with bowing *taking respect to another level*

Overall, level 3 wa tanoshikatta
desu! We had a plan of continuing study at level 4 together. Hoping to see you in the
next level!
